Hi {{first_name|friend}},
There’s a new digital racket on the rise, and it’s preying upon those of us who may think we’re too young to fall for cyber trickery. In an evite scam, you are emailed or texted a digital invitation to an event from someone you either know (whose account was already compromised) or someone whose name sounds vaguely familiar. Click to open the card — as we’ve all become accustomed to doing — and boom! You’ve been phished.
Thanks to AI, scammers are often able to get around standard spam filters in our inboxes, meaning we all have to be more vigilant. How do you know if it’s a scam or not? Take a beat before you click; check the email address it came from, and hover your cursor over the link to see it. Here are some additional tips from Paperless Post and Punchbowl.
Speaking of scams, has the concept of “girlbossing” and/or “empowering women” just evolved into…another scam? Even if it’s out of the mouth of the most chipper of celebrities, the message is not landing well. The reaction to Reese Witherspoon’s concern that women will fall behind if they don’t “learn AI” was a wave of distrust. When it feels like everyone’s trying to sell you something, everyone’s motives are suspect. Everyone is lying to you for money — which both describes our current moment and is actually the title of a new documentary about cryptocurrency that’s screening in select theaters now. It’s not even out in wide release yet, and already we need a sequel.
Bye,
Your friends at Gloria

Occasion dressing is fun to consider, but most days we’re in comfy pants and a tee — with a sweatshirt or a sweater if it’s chilly. We’re not alone, which is why there are so many great T-shirt brands popping up, as well as a surplus of easy pants: cotton poplin pajama types, twill utility trousers, joggers, you name it. Below, our dream casual outfit wardrobe.
Love the idea of a shirt that offers a built-in layering look (like this one, but it’s too $$$) paired with these extremely cool bootcut carpenter pants. Banana Republic Airy Layered T-Shirt, $60. Size XXS to XXL. + Jeanerica Guell Pants, $300. Waist size 23 to 33.
An adorable cotton ringer tee for a great price, plus the perfect comfy pants (that look suspiciously similar to a pricier pair from Leset). H&M Cotton T-Shirt, $13. Size XXS to XXL. + Offline by Aerie Nice Moves Barrel Pant, $66.45. Size XXS to XXL.
A sexy, sweet pointelle tee to wear under a pair of knock-around overalls. Le Bon Shoppe Pointelle Babe Tee, $64. Size S, M, L. + Gap Denim Horseshoe Overalls, $120. Size XXS to XXL.
There’s just something about this V-neck, and these light-wash baggy jeans, that is extremely appealing. Donni The Jersey V-Neck Tee, $98. Size XXS to XXL. + All Three Ronny Baggy Jeans, $425. Waist size 24 to 30.
Sporty, casual, and cute. Madewell Relaxed Long-Sleeve Raglan Tee, $68. Size XXS to XXL. + Pull-On Bootcut Track Pant, $118. Size XXS to XXL.
A silly oversized tee from a classic Downtown brand plus our new fave weekend pants. Judi Rosen New York Logo Tee, $58. Size 1 to 6. + Comme Si La Boxer Poplin Pant, $225. Size XS to XL.
The bright yellow of this tee is just the thing to perk up these twill cargos. Everlane Cotton Box-Cut Tee, $38. Size XXS to XXL. + Citizens of Humanity Flight Pant, $358. Waist size 23 to 34.
This bold crewneck tee hits at the hip, offering just enough coverage for these lower-rise (and wildly popular) track pants. Kule The Modern Tee, $95. Size XS to XXL. + Adidas Slouchy Straight-Leg Pants, $60. Size XS to L.
A delicate, lightweight tee is a good contrast to durable utility pants. De Base Julie Butter Tee, $70. Size S, M, L. + Pistola Denim Wren Relaxed Straight Utility Pants, $134.40. Waist size 23 to 33.

TO READ Jodi Kantor, known for her ground-shifting reporting on Harvey Weinstein, has published a slim new career guidebook titled How to Start: Discovering Your Life’s Work. It’s timed for graduation season, but perhaps this wisdom applies to second acts too? We’re also curious to read Emma Grede’s Start With Yourself in order to form an opinion of it outside of the cacophony that’s engulfed it.
TO COOK This quick-and-easy arayes recipe is a good weeknight meal that’s kid-friendly and easy to riff off of. You can use any ground meat, and eat it as a sandwich or with other carbs and veggies.
